Image optimization in E-commerce websites?

Hi guys,

So I have an e-commerce website and when you hover over the image the image gets enlarged, something like what happens on Amazon.

But when i optimized the images, the images are not get enlarged while hovering over them.

Why is this happening? And what can i do about the images?
