So i started to work in a “companies ” and they did a domain change for two summers ago. They redirected the http :// test.com domain, byt forgot to do the http s :// test.com domain, so its pointing to a 404 page. The site had around 2000 incoming links.

Now after 2 years after the site moved to a new domain, i was thinking if its worth renewing the old sites certificate to do a 301 redirect of the http s :// test.com domain. Is the SEO damage already done?

Note that the http version is redirected to the new domain, it is just the https version thats pointing to a 404 site.
